Parents, Children, and the Fifth House

The fifth house is children. Jupiter is the putra karaka. A parent chart with a strong fifth lord shows investment in the child. Control appears when that investment leaves the child no lagna of their own. The parent's Saturn on the fifth can look like strict guidance. The parent's Rahu on the fifth can look like ambition wearing a family face. Neither placement is a rashi type, and neither is a medical statement about fertility. It is a description of how the parent occupies the child's room.

The child's lagna is the first house of that child's self. Reading only the parent's Sun sign, or only five parent rashis, skips the child's chart completely. A parent may have a demanding fifth house and still meet a child whose lagna lord is firm. The clash is two charts, not one horoscope column. The fourth house is home, so the tone of the household matters as much as the fifth. A peaceful fourth and a harsh fifth is a different home from a harsh fourth.
