Vedic astrology for Sheffield births and British Summer Time
In Sheffield, vedic astrology takes the birth time from Europe/London, the same civil zone as the rest of England. Sheffield clocks go forward to British Summer Time, and a birth during that season keeps the summer offset. South Yorkshire is not a zone name you can type in place of the city. The offset in minutes, from Europe/London, is applied before the Julian day.

Hold the hour, change the month
In January, Sheffield is on the winter offset. In July, British Summer Time is in force. The sidereal chart, built with the Lahiri ayanamsa and Swiss Ephemeris, will not treat those hours as one moment. The Sheffield lagna can change with the season even when the family quotes a single clock time for both kinds of day.
Career, marriage, and a dasha that is personal
Career is read from the 10th house and its lord. Marriage is read from the 7th house, its lord, and the D9 Navamsa. Both depend on a lagna taken from the right Sheffield offset. The Vimshottari dasha already running gives the timing, and no dasha year is printed here as if it covered the city.
Leeds is nearby and still the wrong place
Leeds uses Europe/London as well. If the certificate says Sheffield, locating Leeds picks another city. A free account can generate the Kundli and chat with the AI astrologer. Paid plans add PDF reports, extra divisional charts, and WhatsApp transit alerts.

Frequently asked questions
Does vedic astrology in Sheffield follow London's summer clock?
Yes. Sheffield is on Europe/London, and the clocks go forward to British Summer Time. A summer birth keeps that offset. There is no South Yorkshire exception.
Why locate Sheffield if the zone matches Leeds?
Because the birth city and the zone are different facts. Leeds shares Europe/London and British Summer Time, but a Sheffield certificate has to be located as Sheffield.
Which dasha dates a Sheffield prediction?
The Vimshottari dasha already running on that chart. It is calculated after the lagna is set. No dasha year is invented for births in Sheffield.
