Mysore · India
Vedic astrology in Mysore, the city also spelled Mysuru
Mysuru is the official spelling and Mysore the familiar one, a single city for vedic astrology under Indian Standard Time. The zone is Asia/Kolkata, and summer does not change it. Bangalore, also called Bengaluru, is a different city, west of the meridian near Mirzapur, with solar noon after 12:00. A family that moved to Bangalore for work, or abroad after that, still has a Mysore birth if the certificate says so.

Spelling is not relocation
Test Mysore and Mysuru only with the same date and time. They should be one place. If the lagna jumps, look at the hour you typed. Do not modernize a 1970s minute because the city gained a new English spelling. The offset remains UTC plus 5 hours 30 minutes, with no daylight saving, applied before the Julian day.
The job in Bangalore came later
Work in Bangalore does not move a Mysore delivery room. Both cities use Indian Standard Time, so a wrong swap is easy to miss if you only check the zone. The places geocode apart. Bangalore's solar noon after 12:00 is not a Mysore setting. Career is the 10th house and its lord of the birth chart, not of the city where the office sits.
Abroad, do not pre-convert
A further move into a daylight-saving country adds a seasonal offset the Indian birth never had. Enter the Mysore time as Indian Standard Time. If you convert it yourself and still select Mysore, the chart applies Asia/Kolkata on top. The Vimshottari dasha already running needs the original instant. A free Kundli can be drawn from that instant and chatted about.

Frequently asked questions
Does vedic astrology use different zones for Mysore and Mysuru?
No. They are one city on Asia/Kolkata, with no daylight saving. Keep the recorded birth time if you compare the spellings.
Can a Mysore birth use Bangalore's solar noon?
No. Bangalore is west of the Mirzapur meridian, so solar noon there falls after 12:00. Mysore is geocoded as Mysore on Indian Standard Time.
Where is marriage read?
From the 7th house, its lord, and D9 Navamsa, timed by the Vimshottari dasha already running. The spelling of Mysore does not change that method.
