Vedic astrology for a Gold Coast birth on a fixed clock
A Gold Coast birth enters vedic astrology on a clock that does not use daylight saving, which is also how Brisbane treats the summer. The Gold Coast does not move onto the daylight saving offset used in Sydney, and it is not timed on Australia/Adelaide, so the certificate city must stay the Gold Coast. Sharing Brisbane's refusal of daylight saving does not make the cities one place. Locate the Gold Coast, and apply that unmoving offset in minutes before the Julian day.

No summer shift, and not Brisbane's name
January on the Gold Coast does not pick up daylight saving. July does not drop any. The offset stays put, which is also true in Brisbane and not true in Sydney. If the certificate says Gold Coast, locating Brisbane still finds the wrong city, even though neither observes daylight saving. The lagna needs the place and the fixed offset together.
Houses after the fixed offset
Lahiri ayanamsa and Swiss Ephemeris set the sidereal chart from that Gold Coast instant. Marriage uses the 7th house, its lord, and D9 Navamsa. Career uses the 10th house and its lord. The Vimshottari dasha already running does the timing. No dasha year is published for the coast as a whole.

Do not import Sydney's daylight saving, and do not place the birth on Australia/Adelaide, which is half an hour off the east coast and does change for summer.

Frequently asked questions
Does the Gold Coast observe daylight saving for vedic astrology?
No. A Gold Coast birth does not use daylight saving, which is also true of Brisbane. Sydney does observe it. The certificate city remains the Gold Coast.
Can I locate Brisbane if the daylight saving rule matches?
No. Both skip daylight saving, and they are different cities. The Gold Coast is also not on Australia/Adelaide. Locate the city written on the certificate.
What happens if a Sydney summer offset is added?
The minutes applied before the Julian day are wrong, so the Gold Coast lagna can move. This city keeps its offset through January and July.
