Vedic astrology for Glasgow births on British Summer Time
Vedic astrology for a Glasgow birth uses Europe/London because Scotland does not keep a civil zone of its own. Glasgow clocks move to British Summer Time with the rest of Britain, so a summer birth is not held on the winter offset. Inventing a Scottish clock would shift the lagna. Glasgow has to be the place located, so the Europe/London offset in minutes is the figure applied before the Julian day.

The summer change still reaches Glasgow
When the clocks go forward, Glasgow goes with them onto British Summer Time. Sidereal positions come from Swiss Ephemeris under the Lahiri ayanamsa, using that summer offset rather than a winter offset left on all year. A January birth and a July birth at the same clock time in the city are not the same instant.
Houses, Navamsa, and the running dasha
Marriage is taken from the 7th house, its lord, and D9 Navamsa. Career is taken from the 10th house and its lord. The Vimshottari dasha already running supplies the timing. No year of a dasha is stated for a Glasgow birth until that chart has actually been cast.
Edinburgh shares the zone and not the name
Edinburgh is on Europe/London too, and it is another city. A certificate that says Glasgow should not be located as Edinburgh, even though both take British Summer Time. Frequently asked questions
Does Scotland give Glasgow its own zone for vedic astrology?
No. A Glasgow birth is timed on Europe/London. The clocks move to British Summer Time in summer, and there is no separate Scottish offset to apply.
What goes wrong if a Glasgow summer birth stays on the winter offset?
The offset in minutes is wrong before the Julian day is formed, so the lagna can change. British Summer Time is the offset Glasgow was actually using while the clocks were forward.
Does a free account cover a Glasgow Kundli?
Yes. A free account can generate a Kundli and chat with the AI astrologer. PDF reports, extra divisional charts, and WhatsApp transit alerts are paid additions.
