Vedic astrology in Cape Town, city field not the zone name
The zone Africa/Johannesburg covers a Cape Town birth in vedic astrology, at UTC plus 2 with no daylight saving, but the city is still Cape Town. The zone is named for another city. That name is not the birthplace, and it is not a summer clock. Daylight saving is not used, so the offset stays put when the weather turns. Geocode Cape Town, apply UTC plus 2 before the Julian day, and type the local time the hospital used.

Do not obey the zone's namesake
Johannesburg and Cape Town share Africa/Johannesburg and the refusal of daylight saving. A chart cast for the namesake city keeps the right sort of offset and the wrong place. The lagna can move on place alone. If the record says Cape Town, resist the software habit, or the relative's habit, of selecting the city inside the zone name.
Opposite seasons, same legal hour
A June birth here is not on a winter offset, because no seasonal offset exists. UTC plus 2 is the clock in the bright months and the cold months. Do not import Europe/Paris or Europe/London behavior from a cousin's chart. Those zones observe daylight saving. This one does not. An Indian birth in the same family remains Asia/Kolkata and must not be rewritten to match.
Career from the 10th of this chart
The 10th house and its lord answer work. The Vimshottari dasha already running answers when, from the Cape Town instant, not from the date of a flight. Positions are sidereal, Lahiri ayanamsa, Swiss Ephemeris. A free account can generate the Kundli and chat. Extra divisional charts and a PDF are paid, and they will not notice if you silently meant the other big city.
